Hi, all
Just got back into town about a week ago from my trip to Australia. Had a great time and will be uploading many pix soon.
Anyone around here have tree ferns?

Welcome home Lori. I WISH I had tree ferns, this one was in Hawaii.

Lorie, I have a tree fern, but it's more "fern" than "tree" at this point. :)

Can you believe they are invasive in HI? These guys are huge, easily 15' in places. I seem to have lost the photo I took of a young TF emerging off an older one. They start as these fuzzy bumps on the trunk and they are soft like a small animal.

whew...I wish I could grow a tree fern, saw one in person for the first time this weekend, they are awesome!

I don't know about Iris, but I know Deanna has been very busy with work, etc and doesn't have web access currently but is hanging in there :) I haven't had time to read lately, so I'm glad to "see" you guys think about us

I would like to grow a tree fern but if I remember right you have to be in a very warm climate or they take for ever to grow. Can't remember which one was the problem or if both were the problem.

I have a Dicksonia antarctica, which has actually grown a bit faster than I expected so far. It should be hardy enough to stay in-ground down here year-round, but so far., I've not been brave enough to try. Mine's in a large pot, that I sink into the ground in summer, and bring into the garage in the winter. :)

My hardware store got the FreezePruf in. It seems they ordered it the day I asked and I was so pleased with their promptness I went ahead and bought a bottle already. Somebody, anybody, please remind me I have this stuff months form now when it is supposed to be 30 degrees. All my mauginal tropicals will get sprayed this winter.

Hi C-cactus and all others that were at the RU! Been really busy here and had a few misfortunes along the way during the summer, But doing ok.
Tropicanna, Do you know if deanna got her web back on yet? I sent her a D-mail about some plants I need to find homes for but now I wonder if she will get the d-mail or not? If she's really busy, She probably won't have time for these plants (Darn it!)

Hi Iris,it's so good to hear from you ^_^.
