Farewell sweet roos

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

Well, DH couldn't sleep through the crowing at 6:30AM and was getting very grumpy. Since I didn't want roos anyway, and I didn't think anyone around here would either, I listed them on Atlanta Pet Chicken. Well..... a very nice young man replied to my listing and came and got them yesterday. Sounds like they will be going to a good home. He has 27 other chickens, various breeds and will allow visitation. I am sad, but now I can get 3-4 more pullets to fill up the coop. There are several chicken events coming up in the area and I will be attending...... Hmmmm the incubator may need to be put to use.... decisions, decisions.

Well at least you know they went to a good home. It is always hard to have to part with some but is easier when you know they will be cared for. They are very pretty.

Truly....it's a wonderful thing to be able to rehome roos...

Who sleeps past 6:30 ?

Sapello, NM(Zone 5b)

They didn't crow til 6:30? Where'd you get such lay-a-bed roos? The one's I've known started much, much earlier. Heck, I've heard 'em going off at 2 am.

Anyhew... glad you found them a nice home.

Clarkson, KY

Heh....sounds like you could've sold 'em and made your fortune....roosters not crowing til 6:30....wowie zowie and Zoinks, Scooby!!

Dacula, GA(Zone 7b)

Gee, I didn't know I was so fortunate. Guess I should have kept them.... Not. The girls are doing just fine without them. I think they didn't crow earlier because the coop didn't have any windows on the east side. Sun had to be up a little to get light in there. If they crowed at 2am, they would have been soup.

DH sleeps past 6:30 because he stays up all night watching TV. TV is not my thing. Give me a good book anyday.

Haystack, I doubt if your DW wants to rehome you. She probably has too much time invested in training you! LOL!

lolol! Point, there!! Lotta time invested n-all!

Hi Beclu727, I am having the same problem , tooo many Roosters! I put them on Craigslist...willing to barter or trade for anything.... NO takers! I then put them on Freecycle.. give away.. no takers! Now just look at these cutie Pies, only 6 months old and just starting to crow, Arent they the puffiest, sweetest things?? How come no one wants Cute White Silkies??? I have 3 that must go!
You got really lucky finding new homes!

Hi Eufaula, have you tried Atlanta Pet Chicken Meetup group? That's where I listed mine. In fact the guy who took mine has Silkies. DM me for the URL. Also, list them on the state Farm/Market bulletin. Becky

BTW they are adorable. If I was into silkies, I'd be tempted myself.
