I am sorry I didn't put any of these double impatiens in them... they grew wonderfully ... big and full ... too bad maybe next year
Onewish1..those double impatiens are beautiful. Want to share if you started them from seeds or purchased a starter plant from your local garden center or nursery.

they were cuttings from NC Farms.. I had a big order of cuttings I rooted...once they started blooming they didn't quit.. those were the lavender

since Pippi asked so nicely in a d-mail .. here is the info I gave her
they also sell rooted ones if you want to pay extra for them.. but yes I ordered twice from them.. and both large orders.. they are very nice and helpful people... the cuttings they send are tiny tiny tip cuttings would be hard to root them in water I think.. lucky if they are an inch big... I always use rooting hormone.. been using a liquid one I picked up in a co-op on here last year.. I re cut the tiny stem ... dip it.. and stick it in either peat or seed starting mix..
since I ordered them last Feb I had them over nighted so they won't freeze... think they were sent fed-ex.. got confirmation from NC farms a day or two before they shipped.. and was able to track where they were and when they were coming .. so I had time to start filling trays and getting all my stuff ready

most of these things I can bring in and overwinter under lights.. the impatiens found there death when I came down with the flu and forgot about them outside in fall... so they didn't make it in the house
here is my list of cuttings bought last year.. would not do petunias or the calibrachoa again.. they were good for a while in the house.. but went downhill quick not having real sun.. because the shipment was is Feb.. if you were ordering later.. I would say yes to them

forgot to add in my d-mail to put that you don't want replacements of what might not be in stock... they replaced things in my order without consulting me.. I wasn't happy about them .. but they did make it right and let me choose replacements and shipped them later on

The bloommaster pots have the holes and you would side plant it to make a ball shape of blooms
I was wondering if anyone started seeds early in hanging pots. Kinda like wintersowing. I have purchased impatient seeds and a few other annuals to try the milk jug method.
I have only started my seed for these in the house... sorry no I haven't

I don't plant seeds in those pots. I start the seeds indoors, under lights.
side planting requires a good root system to let the plants take hold ... since they normally won't grow that way.. just my opinion .. could be wrong
edit - unless you are putting a cutting in them
