I know that this is not a wild animal here, but we were at the zoo and we were looking for the Harpy Eagle and couldn't find it. I don't know why I had a feeling something was looking at me from above so I looked up and this guy was on the fence above us. It freaked me out, cause mind you, this guy was like 7 foot wide (wing span). He was a very big guy and he was checking us out like we were supper... later he was actually in his pin, on the ground, and he picked up a huge tree limb like it was a water floatie. His legs and claws were so huge! I haven't been to the zoo since I was a kid. So this was pretty fascinating to me! There was many more birds at the fort worth zoo, but the Harpy Eagle topped my list for sure. Big Big guy... about as big as the Bald Eagle.
Harpy Eagle
Wonderful pics Teresa! Love the Harpy Eagle along with the others. Thanks for sharing them with us.
Nice pics, love the Harpy Eagle. They are being taken care of, but it's always a shame when these birds can't fly free as they were meant to.
I know it. I hate seeing them captive also. Wish that they could put them in bigger areas so that they could fly around!
