My first Passiflora and I'm hooked!!!

I am so excited to see my incense bloom today ... I have been wanting to get one and my attempt to grow it from seed was a failure... last week I went to my local nursery and found one for $7.50 and about 2 feet tall on a gallon container.

It has lots of flower buds and today was a nice surprise ... it has only two blooms open but I can smell it from few feet away..Imagine having lots of blooms - it will be heavenly sweet - no wonder butterflies love them..

Now I am hooked - I want a couple more plants to put around my yard.. I have read the forewarnings about it getting invasive so I potted it in a huge container and provided a trellis to support it.

Passion flowers are addictive...When I was a child I became fascinated with the native passion flowers of East Texas and have been hooked ever since. Just wait 'til you explore other varities, colors, etc. I lost all of my plants to Hurricane Ike but have friends who are sharing cuttings... hopefully before long I'll have plants big enough to take cuttings and share.
