Want: Plants to finish my landscape project. See this list!
I have the siloam double classic that I could trade you. I also have some daylily, will have to look this weekend to get the names for you. I would like to trade for hosta.
I will send you a d-mail of the other daylilies I have this weekend to see if you are interested. Please be patient I do not always have internet service at home.
Thanks!
I would really love to see your project plan! I have an agave pup if you would like it.
The house looked like the above, all the way around as for landscaping...just grass ( and weeds!) Below shows a bit of the left side of the back but mostly of the area where I have planted cacti, sedums/semps, agaves, coneflowers, lavender, and a few historic irises.
The black is a soaker hose for water as we can't be there that often to water the newly planted plants.
Of course, the grass needs mowed again here...the mower is in the shop and so is the weedeater...bummer!

This is the right edge of the back of the house. On the left you can see a large bird bath top that I sunk in the ground and a few of the plants there. On the right is my woodland wildflower bed, the shadiest area of the house. You can't see a lot of the small groundcovers planted as they are small yet...as is everything. Dwarf rhododendrons, partridgeberries, orchids, ferns so far. The front side of the house hasn't had much done to it and although a lot of the plants there look dead (foxgloves) they aren't, and some are too small to see ( clematis)... garage has shrubs behind it now....it is coming along.
Thanks a lot for the offer of the agave. I got one on here that was described as "blue" and I like it so much I really want another. Other than that, lots of yuccas, false yuccas, agaves, cacti, and sedums, red hot pokers etc. are planted on that side. I have used a Hemlock Dwarf Gentch White and 2 Golden Box Honeysuckles which I really love. Still have a Gold Thread False Cypress to put somewhere, too. I really like it. Some Rose Glow Barberries and azaleas, ajugas, hostas, etc. are already in around the foundation.
Soooo...it is coming along!
Hey, when your finished there come on over!!! I'm so bad, when I see a good deal, clearance I get it, have to just plant it and then plan it! I know, sort of backwards, but just cant pass up a good bargin or trade!!! LOL You are doing a wonderful job, and should be really proud of how it all looks! Thanks so much for sharing! Ok, its going to get hot hot again, we were suppose to get some rain earlier this week, but no rain but sooooo much humidity! I'm going to melt!! LOL Better get back out at it, those weeds like the heat and humidity a lot better then me, and they are starting to win!!

The left front of the house. As you can see, just a few hostas so far. I want to put a garden pool there but have to get a liner first and get some rocks at our present house to move there. Just sand at our new house with no rocks anywhere!! I do have a Banana Musa 'Rojo' to put in that corner.
Sooo...it is getting somewhere!
This is the right side of the front of the house. My "looking dead" foxgloves", clematis, miniature rose bushes and a lot of my irises will go here as well as some other flowers. Maybe my dwarf pink lilac at that left corner. It would be visible as you would come out the front door.
Ok this is enough! You can see where I need to fill in! I am currently digging and/or lifting the next batch of plants to take over to plant which I expect will be in about 1 1/2 weeks!
Hey!! lhettenhausen...I was told on the landscaping forum that I was doing it backwards. Most of my shrubs, azaleas, rhodendrons...I bought last year at what I call the "crash and burn" sale rack at Lowes and WalMart!!! I did get some of the ones I really wanted from online nurseries and Ebay! I then found landscape plans on the BHG website. I substituted some things in the plans with things I likes better...for ex...where they called for a white cedar, I planted my Gentch White and my Baggenson's I planted instead of Rhododendrons! Magazines on garden plans and books on the same, gave me more landscape plans and ideas. I have taken the plants I bought and a ton I traded for on here...last fall and this year...and worked them into those plans. YES...I have ended up with extra plants and some I still need...so I will trade for what I need if I can and if I can't, I will sell my extras on Ebay or maybe here in the Classifieds ( I just thought of the Classifieds on here!! LOL!!!
DON'T worry about "backwards"...it can work!
