Ok, I think there was some type of discussion about those round clear planters? What were they called? I was talking with a friend today and could not remember what they are called and its driving me batty!!!

Was it the little clear plastic saucers that you put under plants?

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

meag is right..........but don't forget that you don't want to plant your trailer in one of those until she is big enough to be taking the bottom leaves off and able to pin the stem down without the foliage lying on soil.............I think that is right but could be wrong..........you want to let them form a stem long enough before putting in the shallow saucer or pot pan..........(with always holes in the bottom)

It was like a tiny terririum, round clear? I saw a sinnginna in one somewhere, maybe not here? Not sure where, thought someone here had touched on that subject, or maybe I dreamed the whole thing up!!! LOL

I think you are referring to some of the plants Sally'sBloom has in small round glass vases (clear). I know she grows some of her episicas in them and also just posted a wonderful new plant she is growing in one.

I just looked on ebay for Sally's and Sally'sBloom, what is the name of her store?

Are you talking about these types of things? This is what I like to grow my micro Sinns in. Either these or wine glasses.

Maybe that was it, I kept thinking it looked like a clear ball, but those are maybe what I was thinking about. My little brain hurts LOL

Thanks for all of your help, and them being at Hobby Lobby sounds familiar.........

The little glass vases are good for the small episcias like 'Silver Skies' , too

Oh that's so cute, Gail!

I got to thinking about it, and I think this may be the thread you are thinking about with the little glass balls. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1003080/ It's on the Terrarium Gardening forum.

A friend and I got this idea about 5 years ago, but could not find the glass balls--sold out everywhere, well before Christmas. The next year, I couldn't find the balls anywhere. I'm so glad I found this thread--thanks Rain!

Those ornament balls are precious, but she did find out you cannot put much weight in them. They can shatter into shards. If you are careful they are wonderful. Not a kid's project, but for an adult they are great. Just not too much weight in there. The opening is tiny too.

For kids or heavier things, you can get great tiny glass in candle sections of Hobby Lobby, etc.

That was it!! And I dearly love all of these!!!! I am going to show my friend all of these, maybe she will get some ideas too!! I know my little brain is jurting all of the ideas whirling around in there, now to just do something with them before they fly out my ears (swooooshhhhh)!

I am helping my stepson get his stuff ready to move to college (freshman). He and his sister has always lived here with us, his sister chelsea will be a sr. in college this year and this is his first year. His mom is taking him down tonight, but since his dorm is brand new, they have a few more touch ups he can't get set up until weds. then we will go down. Gives all of us our time with him, if I can stop crying over him. I am not a cry baby, and he's not my kid, but I have raised him since he was 11, he has grown into such a wonderful person. After all he has been through, he still oh shoot, gotta stop!!

So, to keep my mind off of it Saturday and or Sunday I'm going to the Missouri Bot. Garden for my other flower addiction: DAYLILY, the society is having their annual show and sale. AHHHHH! Turn me loose!!!!!

Thanks for all your help, if I come up with something clever I will post it.
