Glad to see your brugs doing so well, Doris. Don't you love the clear yellow that Autumn Treasure is at this time of year? Will be orange when your weather cools. And so will Shooting Star- did ya stick your nose down and smell her? I love her scent! Mine must have 75 blossoms on her. She blooms along the stems, too!

I hope your brugs reward your rescue with lots more blossoms! They look very healthy and happy!

Brenda,
Don't be so cruel! You can't just say your Brug has 75 blooms on it without showing a photo of her. She must be a sight to behold!

Sorry, Betty, I was taking close-ups of her and did not get a full plant shot. This is the best I can do, especially now the flush is winding up. Also, these were in morning light and are a bit washed out but you can still see lots of blossoms! She greeted me with this display of blossoms on the return from a trip to NY!!

This one is so cheerful, I love it in it's second year for me!

I see that you are in zone 6 what is your routine to over winter your brugs?
I did an experiment and left some in the ground with plastic and mulch. Only three came back and my cuttings out of the tons in the 4 bucket only a few made it, that I brought in side. I ended up giving up on of my Brugs that I knew would not have a chance to come back away. ( Due to the lack of room and light in my home).
I have 2 small brugs that I would like to pot and bring in, but do not want to loose them.
* I have only one window that gets some sun, Just enough to keep them alive and growing. As my begonias seem to do ok there.
Any advise ?
What month do you take them inside? By the looks of the pictures you have them the same pot all summer and bring them in?
Thank you-
Iam leaving on vacation, so I will read your response when I get back.

Some of mine I repot into larger containers, and some I cut down and just save the top half in water to get more roots,I take them in when I feel it is not safe to leave them outside any more, I take a lot of the lower, larger leaves off, then I put the smaller ones in the basement, the larger ones that are heavy I put in my spare bedroom, I keep saying I am going to quit but I never do, I am always looking for different colors, I love the darker pinks, and orange, the main thing is when you bring them in make sure you spray them good for bugs.

Beautiful brugs Doris & Holyhosta! Shooting Star looks like a bright ray of sunshine in your photo. Love this brug!

My Shooting Star was late coming back this year. Actually I thought I had lost her from the snow we had in Louisiana this past year. She had a good, healthy root system but wouldn't grow until this May!! S.S. is about 2 ft. tall now and hope to get blooms before too much longer.

Dee if you remind me I will send you cuttings in the fall, if you are interested.

Doris, just wondering if you got the hard storm that we got last night, and how your brugs faired. My only one, got spit down the middle, but there are still blooms on the part thats left. I think next year, I will plant them in pots, so I can move them, when the storms come.

Wre have had storms every day, my poor plants fight through it, I am constantly moving them from the front porch back out in the sun, the news always reports on places close to us like Rushville, and Shelbyville so I sent them an email and told them to check on us *LOL* Shelbyville had 3" of rain and here we sit with 71/2" in three hours, and flooded everywhere I could not even get out of my driveway the road was closed.I would love to have just a couple of days where my plants were happy in the sun.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Keep them news people straight Doris. LOL Glad to hear that you and your plants are doing ok.
