Not sure what I want in return so Surprise me!
I am zone 5A and have many part sun locations in my yard. Most are early afternoon to late afternoon in a east/west line.
My trades will be at least two plants, perhaps more depending. These plants are first year about 3 to 4 inches tall with several leaves. They look quite good.
This will be the first time I have traded this plant live, so any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to send them. Yes, I did read the instruction at the top of this page, but if you know something special...
Sue
This is the mother plant last year...
Have several trades of Silene coronaria, Bloody Mary
Sue please look at my have list and see if there is anything that you would be interested in.
I would love to have a few of your wonderful little plants.

Is that the same plant in your first picture?
Yes. These are only 1 year old. Next year they will grow bigger and flower. They are perennial.
Did you check my have list? To see if you are interested in anything I have.

Get some press n seal. and wrap the roots with a little dirt on them in that. Don't sent bare root, it's just too hard on them this time of year. The press n seal is great because it sticks together. The put it in a baggy and blow just a little air into it with your breath .. the CO2 from our exhale acts like a little life preserver.

Thanks X I have already sent out 2 as instructed. I will modify any that follow...
Hey X, should I still wrap roots in a wet paper towel?
Thanks...
You don't need to with the press n seal. I'll water what I'm going to send about an hour before I get ready to pack. I usually take off only enough soil to keep the roots at least 75% covered. If the root ball is heavy enough to cause sliding around in the box when tipped and breaking the plant then I gather the plastic bag around the base of the stem where the roots start then tape it to the box. I make sure the recipient knows the plant is taped to the box. If the top of the plant with the leaves don't fit in a plastic bag then I put a smaller one around the roots then cut the bottom off plastic grocery bag or small trashbag then slide it up starting at the root ball, secure around the base where the root ball starts then loosely around the rest of the plant (you don't want to seal it .. you still want air circulation but it keeps the cardboard of the box from sucking up too much moisture from the leaves) .. I've found that paper products like newspaper tends to suck up too much moisture (that's why its so good for putting it in wet shoes to dry them). It doesn't have to be sealed or closed up completely, just enough to keep the leaves in stem sort of together.
I worked out this way of plant packing by trial and error .. and so far I haven't found any errors to this way of packing. All my stuff arrives in great condition. The press n seal is great.

X thanks... Last batch also was stuffed with shredded paper. Did dampen the leaves but didn't wrap whole plant in bag. I sent 3 day Priority, so hopefully they won't be in these boxes too long!
I have nothing you want as I am new...but would love to have this plant!! Would you consider selling? I am not even sure if this is against the rules or what??? If so, lesson learned! Thanks
Sue,
Just wanted to let you know my husband mailed your package today.
You should have it in a few days. Please let me know when it arrives and
if everything is okay and as expected.

I would be interested in a trade, but not sure if there's anything I have that you want. Take a look at my list & let me know if we can come up with something. Thanks.
