ID on this tree / shrub?

Fort Worth, TX

We have two of these, they are a year old and came with the house from the builder and are about 4 ft. tall. They had about a month or so of not being watered regularly which is probably why they grew so funny and I need to find out what they are so I can make a decision to try and fix them or get rid of. thanks. Here is a link to another pic.....................s2

Your shrub looks like Wax Myrtle, a very nice native shrub that is evergreen and likes water.
It could get very large, so that close to the house might not be a good place for it.
If i were you, I would cut it back to maybe 2 feet from the ground and let it make new growth, then in the fall I would move it to where i want a large shrub.

My wax myrtles are 20' trees, so if that's what it is, I'm with Josephine, it's definitely too close to the house. The three small trees in the middle are wax myrtles.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to pull them out and probably throw them, after identyifing I searched and found ones like the pic on left and didnt like it. The pic of the three in front of the house showed me with some correct care it can become a full good looking tree! This is perfect because we need to replace our young oak that blew over three times and is now not saveable, now I can replace it. Thanks a bunch.

Thanks, Josephine. I thought it struck a good balance between formal and jungle, LOL!
