Pearcea Hypocyrtiflora

South, TX

Here are two pictures of my Pearcea Hypocyrtiflora. This is a VERY large and heavy container! It has a lid, I took it off for the photos.

Sally--had to Google it--I recalled the name, but not the plant(ugh--senior brain fart!) Yours is doing beautifully! Can't wait til it blooms!

Medford, NJ

I had to google too, never seen one before. everytime I come to this forum I write down AT LEAST 2 or 3 plants that I want to get in the future, I will never have the money and space for them all!

They do not like bright light so it is not under my lights. It is on a table near a window. Like my darker Epicia's, they like less intense light.

Darn it...........Goldleaf sent me two of those and I killed them. Now I know what I did wrong. They needed some more humidity and not my hot lights. Those are wonderful,,Sally. Good job!!

Sally, I am so mad at myself for not knowing. I am going to order one myself and do it right this time. How did you know how to care for her?

South, TX

I don't remember. Googling a lot and maybe magazines for the care. I learned the hard way my Epicia's hate bright light, except the Cleopatra's and Ember Lace plants I have. All of the rest almost died. They are hardy and recovered. I have learned since then that each Episcia is different.

I put her in light mix, but I will be changing it to mostly spagnum. Most people do total spagnum or spag. with a little mix.

Thanks!
