Bulk grain purchase coming up in Jacksonville

FYI: I'm hosting a group purchase from Wheat Montana.

Wheat Montana is an excellent provider of grains, beans, oats, honey and other long-term storage items that are good for "stocking up". With the upcoming winter and the potential for a pandemic flu, now is the time to stock your pantry with food.

We have ordered from Wheat Montana before and were thrilled with the results. The wheat, for example, is available in either a 50# bag, or a 45# bucket that is sealed and ready for extremely long-term storage.

Orders will be placed in about a month from now, and will be available to pick up about a month after that. Delivery location will be somewhere in Jacksonville, TX. Payment is required up front.

D-Mail me your interest in participating, and I will send you the price list for all the products they have.

Gee, sure wish I lived closer! Even for a one-person household wheat berries can store for a long, long time and be used as needed. DGer's who can manage to get to the pick up place could arrange to split large orders with neighbors or relatives.

Great idea, Dave. Wholesome natural food stored and handy without frequent trips to the store.

Yuska

Yuska,

There is another group purchase that happens in Spring, TX (a bit north of Houston). I bought with them a couple years ago and had a good experience.

I know a family that stocked up with many buckets of wheat back in 1999 (preparing for y2k) and they are STILL eating that wheat. The shelf life is supposed to be 7 years but I've heard tell that they'll go 20 years or more if the climate is somewhat controlled. They shouldn't be allowed to get extremely hot, so storing in the attic would be a bad idea.

I'm definitely placing this order and we already have at least 3 families here locally who are going in with us. We have to fill 5,000 pounds in order to place it, so I'm motivated to find more participants. :-)

I'm notifying members of my family clan group, some of whom are closer to Jacksonville. And thank you, cousin Shirley, for alerting me to Dave's post.

Feel free to send any of your family members directly to me at dave@davesgarden.com
