Many-headed Barrel, Biznaga de Chilitos, Harem Cactus, Cotton Top Cactus, Woolly

El Cajon, CA

The owners of this plant are pushing it too much! Compare the new round and thin spines with the old flat and stout ones on the originally field collected plant.
Hope it will survive many years despite of this treatment.

Pushing in what way? Too much heat? Too much water? Probably too much heat and too little water, considering where it came from and where it was transplanted to. Hope the new owners realize this.
I think it was dug up and sold in 2005, that's when the photo was taken, and the property sold and re-lanscaped.

There is never too much heat for an (established) Ecac polycephalus, but easily too much shade, water and fertilizer.

I'll Re-phrase it then.
This one is getting *More* heat than it was previously getting, and *Less* water than it was previously getting.
If you want to emulate the conditions it once had, then to me, that means Too much/Too little.
It's not in shade, and he didn't fertilyze them
