I have a small Anthurium in regular MG potting mix that I'd like to re-pot in Coir. Internet searches have taught me that Anthurium are more like Orchids (they don't like to be in soil), so I ordered the trial brick, and it should be here any day. I want to re-pot it because although the foliage appears healthy, it has not produced any new "flowers" since I got it a couple months ago.
So, I'd like some pointers on how to make the transition easy on this plant. Should I try to remove as much of the potting mix as possible? Like, go so far as to wash off the roots? How will I pack the plant and the coir in the flowerpot together? Do I PACK it - or should it be kinda loose?
Also, there's no nutrition in coir, is there? - and I don't know what kind of fertilizer to buy for the Anthurium. Should I just get orchid food?
Thanks, in advance! I'm just a noob with a faintly green thumb...
'Cuz the Coir people are here...
