Super picture...the flower is tops too!

Thanks, Kathleen and Davie.

Davie, this is another one that changes in high heat. It bloomed for the first time in my greenhouse a few winters ago. The nights were cool but above 40. The daytime temps routinely got into the 120's when I would keep the greenhouse closed until about 1:00 p.m. or so. Here is what it looked like in high greenhouse temps.

Wow looks like a totally different flower!

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9b)

very pretty... such a difference between the two flowers and climates...

I know it. The center is more orange with high heat, and the petal shape is different too. It was almost purple in natural light. It seems to me that the fragrance was much stronger too in high heat.

The red color gets deeper and more intense with heat:

The more intense heat that we've been having has brought out some really lovely deep maroon color in this flower. I really like it.

Just to show some contrast, here it is again with ACW.

It is much prettier in person than in a photograph.

love the curled look of those petals... very unique...

Kerkdriel, Netherlands

wow, I didn't know they could do that! Love the dark color from the last few pics.

Yuma, AZ

Wow that is killer...adding it to a long list of what to get!

Thanks for your comments, everybody! This tree is still blooming away. The color is even striking from far away.
