This sounds stupid, but I am very new to brugs, Going on my second year. They bloom at the end of summer where I live.
Then its time cut them down. (take cuttings) for next year.
I have never been able to see one continue to grow.
My question is after it blooms it will form a seed pod like the one above. And will it loose all its foliage prior to that?
Thank you.:)
Katrun,i'm still new too it as well.Once they bloom and you hybridiz the flower, then not long after that the flower will fall off.In time the seedpod will start to form. This was my first time hybridizing.I know once you hybridiz you don't have as long to enjoy the flower. They form different seedpods. They can come in all kinds of sizes.I have a book where it shows seedpods different sizes.I don't think they all lose foliage on the plant.I know mine did,it took all it's energy to grow the seed pods.It may vary rather you lose the foliage or not.By the way your question was not stupid.I think i would be upset too if i could not enjoy them all the way too.
