Where does Hibiscus seed?

Can someone please tell me if it is in the flower or the part that is left after the flower falls off?
Thanks for your help!

It would be in the part that's left behind after the flower falls off--if the flower was pollinated then you'll eventually get a pod developing where the flower used to be. Frequently though you have to hand-pollinate if you want seeds--I've got oodles of hibbies on my deck all clustered together and by letting nature do its thing on its own I've only got two seed pods in 3 yrs of growing them.

I think you'll find a lot of Hibiscus is hybrid and not inclined to seed. I have lots of species and they seed prolifically. Once the flower falls away the seed pod begins to swell.

How would one hand pollinate?

Use a kids paint brush. The anthers with pollen are just behind the stigma. Pick up the pollen with the brush and lightly put it onto the stigma.
