WEll, that's a first, I've seen my neighbors use them for worm beds. would take alot of fill dirt to fill them up.
It will take about 30 more min to load that you tube thing LOL I'm on dial up and it stinks.

I put veggies in an old galvanized double laundry tub. This sits by my back door. I grow a lettuce mixture, chives and onions and a couple cherry tomatoe plants. The rabbits can't reach it. THe whirly-gigs keep the birds away and the deer won't cross the fence to get at it. :)

That's very nice Loon.

That fridge video would surely help somebody living with a steep slope. You'd have to dig some to get it level but the dirt would make good fill for the fridge. If you lined them up it would be much like terracing and no wall to build.

what i wanna know is how he got all those fridge's up that hill. LOL

Yes, they are heavy! I thought about doing the same thing with dead washers/dryers! The weight is prohibitive.

I made some planting boxes a couple of years ago - also very deep and required lots of soil to fill - I put old cotton, silk (natural fiber, buttons, zippers, etc. removed) clothes in the bottom on top of rocks for drainage. Over time, they decompose eventually and I didn't have to take them to the dump.

Plus, one of the dresses was a favorite corduroy workdress that I was having a hard time letting go of despite how ragged it had become, so I gave it a burial. :-)

Bad idea?
