Eastern Blazing Star (Liatris scariosa)
I just took that pic yesterday. It's a very late bloomer. I started them from seeds 2 years ago - and these are the first flowers. It's certainly different than the usual liatris cultivars. Keeping my eye out for seeds... I'll gladly share if I manage to get any from them.
