I've never grown seeds from a variegated Strep before and I'd like to try. Anyone have any they'd share? I'm more than happy to trade something I have for them. ^_^
Thanks!
Does anybody have seeds from a variegated Strep?
Hi Rain;
i have some seed from iced pink flamingo you can try, i got it from a friend & have not used it all. If you like i will send you some.

Hi Bonnie!
I would love to try them! Thank you so much! Let me know what I can send to you in return. ^_^
Rain, you are not going to believe this but I twisted out seeds from my Ice Flamingo tonight.........these are from a plant that doesn't have all variegated leaves but her blooms are giant and look exactly like Iced Pink Flamingo except they are bigger............also I have Tropical Twister seed.............do you want them? I can put them in an envelope..........and you can grow both if you wish................(meaning Bonnie's and mine since mine is just famous for her 15" leaves and giant blooms but not every leaf is totally variegated)..........
Sure, Gail! I'd love to grow them. Thank you! I'm happy to grow a bunch because at this point, I'm mostly interested in the variegated babies and from what I've heard variegated babies make up a small percentage of any batch.
That is why you need a lot of seed...........I have been told that B. Tropical Twister can really produce some beauties..........but I have run out of space, time and energy.............
Will go out on MOnday..........
Oh, I'm excited about growing these! LOL It may sound really, really silly, but I would truly love to be able to hybridize, name, and register at least one plant some day. Just a little personal goal that I would really love to accomplish. Maybe one day... and maybe this will be the beginning of that. Ya never know!! ^_^
amy;
it is truly an experience to hybridize your very own plant. i have done a few & it just gets better all the time.

How about a seed exchange? I know the Gesneriad society has a list of seeds you can buy for $2. a packet. It would be fun to have a seed exchange, wouldn't it? If we do have one I need a few weeks to order some seeds!

We had several last year and it was too hard on people..........whoever received them had to divide up those tiny seeds........some people didn't get what they wanted......This year I am just ordering for me and a couple of other people. Maybe you could do the same if you wished.
Maybe someone will speak up when they read this and want to join you.......
Bonnie and Gail, I received the seeds from both of you. Thank you so much! Y'all are so sweet! I'm going to try to make time to sow them tonight. :o)
