Here are the leather britches I made with the last of my beans. A neighbor gave me a mess of beans today from his garden and I will string them tomorrow.

What do you do with the strung beans?

Yes---I want to know too.

Forgot to mention previously because I was so enthralled by the strung green beans, your harvest looks awesome!! So pretty and I bet it tastes good, too!

I let the beans dry, then hang until I am ready to eat them. When I want to cook them, I soak them in water for a few hours, then season and cook as usual. They taste fresh.

Thanks for the kind words. My garden has done well this year and I thank God for the good weather and rain when I needed it. I ate stuffed squash and pepper dressing for lunch. Yum!

I STILL haven't eaten lunch today....

So you just let them dry and then what do you do with them once they're dried and you want to store them?

Hang them somewhere out of the way where they will stay clean.

I do feel quite satisfied with myself. LOL

I got 3 or 4 more strings done and hung. A friend gave me some beans. I am going to bring him some green tomatoes for frying.
