Fruit Salad

This was supposed to be Yugumbeh Spirit, but it wasn't obviously. It is a nice fruit salad from Oz though.

I was supposed to get a fruit salad once turned out to be a celadine... got a replacement that also turned out to be a celadine... *grumble*... your fruit salad is very beautiful...

Very nice and from the looks of it your going to be having flowers for a while with all those buds .

yummy yummy. I hear they smell nice.

Brittany, I know how frustrating that can be. If it's any consolation, 'Celadine' is a fantastic cultivar and better than any fruit salad in my opinion. I have two here;-)

Dana, the inflo is huge! You have a good eye. I don't usually take pictures of inflo's, but I did this one.

LiliMerci, it's a pretty mild apricot scent, I would say.

It's a lovely one Clare!

OM Goodness, that IS a huge inflo. WOW! You're going to have tons of flowers.

This one is starting to look a bit like 'San Miguel.' It's blooming darker this year than it did last year.

Very colorful flowers! I have been told that there are several versions of Australian Fruit Salad. BTW I happen to have a variegated version of this plant from grafting. As I bud-grafted a few of them, one turned to be a variegated plant but it grows at a much much slower rate.

Yes, I agree. It seems that the term "fruit salad" is not a cultivar name but the same as saying "multi-colored." All fruit salads seem to have the same red, orange, yellow colors in different strengths and shades. I am very pleased with this one.

I remember how excited I was when you told me that a bud graft you made had produced a variegated plant of this one. The variegated leaves will look amazing with these flowers. I think most of the variegated plumerias that I've seen have mostly yellow flowers. A slower growth rate should be good also -- like a dwarf! A dwarf variegated plumeria with these flowers would be exquisite! I am very pleased that this happened!

I'm really pleased with this one. I guess not all mistakes are bad!

Another pic of this one. I love the orange hues in this one.

Very nice bloom, Clare! I love this Fruit Salad. My ultimate dream is to get a dwarf variegated plumeria with these flowers. I will stop hybridizing plumeria right after that.

Mulberry, FL

Verigated would be really cool :) But I notice some of the verigated plants don't look attractive the colors are drab not appealing I have one here that was sold as a marble its not. Marble has the bright yellow when the new leaf comes and it looks good this one doesn't have a color change.

Kukiat, that is a good dream to have!

Dana, I haven't seen a variegated one that I don't like.

Here's my fruit salad today. The heat is really bringing out the dark orange color.

Beautiful! I have a few plumerias but they haven't got flowers yet. I hope next year. But it is hard to get plants here in the Netherlands. Just only when people bring some cuttings home from vacation.
Is it difficult to sow them? Or can't I get such beautifull colors then?

Here's another one of Fruit Salad.

Hi Leeuwtje! The cuttings are easy to root, and you can get many beautiful colors that way. The seeds take many, many years to bloom and may not yield an attractive flower, but you just never know what you're going to get with seedlings.

I know clare! But it is difficult to get those cuttings here. I have rooted several cuttings but I don't know anyone in person who has these plants in the Netherlands so that is the problem. Someone who whent on a vacation to thailand brought these fore me. I know I have to wait several years for the seedlings/plants to flower. But I think it is easier to get seeds here then to get cutlings here.
But if someone would try to send me some cutlings it would be nice and I even am willing to pay just for trying. But I am not sure if the get here by mail. Would customs pick these out of the mail?

all the rain we've been getting is killing all my pretty plumeria blooms.

This tree started blooming and has several inflo's. The last inflo was from a graft on another tree. The color is great with different shades of orange. The fragrance is sweet but mild.
