Blue Cochin Poozie hatched a baby...

Conroe, TX

Our blue Cochin Poozie has been sitting on 3 eggs. One got smooshed somehow yesterday, it looked to have a couple of days left till hatch. One other egg hatched last night. This one looks to have a lot of Splash in it. So tiny and so cute. The last egg should hatch in a day or so.

My husband is holding it in this picture.

This is another picture I took holding the little bundle. It is so adorable and so small. I heard it peeping in the shell yesterday and it pipped for more than 24 hours, I was worried it might not make it out but it hatched during the night.

Seem's like you and ZZ's get the most incredible colors in those baby chicks. She is gorgeous, the colors are stunning! She is going to be a looker. Watch the guy's around her!! LOL Congrats. Haystack

I'm hoping it is a her. We already hatched one Splash roo and two Blue roos this year and only one hen so I'm hoping that this one and the next one that hatches are hens. I love Cochins because they are so sweet and mild mannered, even the roos. We have a year old Blue roo and 3 Blue hens and one hen that is 2 years old. The babies are so tiny it amazes me.

Very cute and sweet!

So far the other egg hasn't hatched but I'm not sure how far behind this one it is. There was only one hen laying at the time so the eggs this mama sat on could be many days apart. I'm guessing though the second egg should hatch within a day or two.

On another note our Buff that was sitting on eggs had one hatch today. The little booger hatched fairly quickly, this morning it had a little hole and a couple of hours later it was out. I haven't seen it yet but my son said it is black.

Swoozie! That's cute! I might need that one! I had an unexpected hatch today under a broody! A little light yellow chicklette. Swoozie!

Oooh! I like Schmoozie. Unless, perhaps, she's a Doozie? Or, alas, a Roozie.

You guys are too funny. Love all the name suggestions.

By the way, the other hen, the Buff (Goldie) now has 2 babies. One is Black with a dot on the head (Barred Rock) The other looks to be a Red.

Where did Goldie's eggs come from?

Lalapaloozie.....LalLa for short.....

Oh Catscan, you nailed it! Love that! Lalapaloozie! Too good!!

Goldies eggs are from our chickens. We have a variety and when she decided to be broody we just took some of the best looking/shaped eggs and put them under her so they came from various pens. Her other baby hatched a little bit ago. It is still very wet but looks like it will be a red as well, maybe a Buff. I'll be able to tell better when it dries.

I love Lalapaloosie! We need ZZ to give us a gender. Some of these names are sex specific.
