Very nice! This picture seems to support your premise about like colored CVs blooming together. Today was a red and yellow day...or do you just have more plants of those colors?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks
But the yellows open today a head of the oranges,so I don't know if the color has anything to do with what opens first!!!!
Reds , oranges and yellows are my favorite colors, there hot and the eye will catch those colors first, also seems to appear larger than life!!!

I thought I'd take a picture of my Tropical hibiscuses plantings.
I have them in a timber planter,16x 2 1/2 ft bed.
I'm taking photos from my neighbors driveway, this bed is between our driveways.
Wouldn't you know it a southern exposure and thats the side 75% of the flowers are on!!!!

That sure doesn't look like Kansas as I'd picture it :-)

I'm sure the neighbors are appreciative.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks
But on the other side of the clump of trees is the range and where branding long horns cattle, getting ready to start up the Chisholm trail to Abilene!
Really though I only live a mile from that trail!!!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Looks like you have created your own oasis in the middle of the range then. Thanks for the perspective. And you have 3 greenhouses is the back?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Yes and you can't even see my house from the street, rain forest completely hides the house and everything.
Well people driving by will stop so hard and fast you hear there tires squeal, they don't believe there eyes!!!!
They get out and ask me if there can tour the jungle!!!
After they take a tour they say how and the heck can you grow these so big!!!!
I enjoy it!!!
Thanks

I love it. Please tell me that nothing has ever disappeared from your yard; you know grown feet and walked off without your permission. That would make this the perfect story.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well nothing has walked off by itself, but people under the darkness of night have come on to my property and dug up plants, especially my bananas.
Sometimes they even try to cover there tracks and cover the whole in the ground back up,and even spread mulch over the area,!!!!
Like I wouldn't know something was missing!!!!
I laugh at it more than let it upset me!
Amazes me what will people will take the time to go through!!!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

DARN! I sure was hoping that wasn't the case! That makes me sorry for us all...but I'm glad you can laugh it off. Good for you.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Well what burns my butt,is when they come at night and knock over my bird baths and break them into pieces, and that has happened twice,to 2 on my cement ones.
I'm sure it is teenagers out drinking, looking for something destructive to do.
Better that than to harm or hurt someone!!!!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Well if it helps, I'll scold my 17 year old daughter for all the reckless, destructive teens out there. Even though she wouldn't do what happened to you I did have to talk to her about not picking flowers out of the outdoor shopping mall flower beds. Apparently other shoppers gave her dirty looks but no one said anything to her until she got home and told me about it. I can't tell you what was going on in her mind at the time that told her it was okay to do that but I can guarantee she won't be doing it again. So from a mother of a teen, I'm sorry that happened to you.

Of course, that doesn't address the adults who will sneak in and dig up your plants. Those folks are just plain crazy.

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks my children all have teenagers now,and are having the same talks with there children as I did with them, and they say they remember those days!!!!
But I remember when I was a teen,I did some things I'm not proud of,never damaged anything, but did take one or two water melons more than I should have, and I planted the seeds!!!LOL
But worst problem was taking sweet and field corn,I could shuck and eat it right in the field, and yes planted the seeds for that too!!!!
Working for all the orchards and local farmers,I knew when and how everything was ready!!!!
I always confessed up,and they'd laugh and say you don't think I know!!!!LOL
I'd always take some home for the family!!!!
Da would say where did you get this, you better not have stole it!!!
I'd say Dad I got it from work!!!LOL
I'm sure he knew the truth, but it was so good,he'd would have ate it anyway!!!!LOL

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Can't say I've ever had my corn raw...must be an acquired taste? :-)

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

LO once you taste that milky sugar, your hooked, and you know when your young!!!!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

hmmm, I'll have to try that. I have some corn in the fridge right now :-)

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

But you see your not standing in the middle of a corn field at 2 in the morning!!LOL
Enjoy!

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh, I didn't realize the requirements...and you're absolutely right. I have no business in a cornfield at 2 in the morning :-) so I had my 2 ears of corn cooked :-) It was delicious!

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

I will have to agree,cooked,spread butter,salt & pepper,Hmmm!
Now when you eat it,do you go from one to the other,or to you eat in a circle???LOL

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

I eat in a circle...that way I have a better handle to hold the ear with. I am definitely not a dainty corn on the cob eater, gangway! :-)

Los Angeles, CA(Zone 10b)

Great Fountain pic.. I love the yard pic... Someday I hope to have a jungle growing like that. Looks Incredible..

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Thanks PC,I only wish I lived in your zone,I can only grow this 5 months out of the year, there I could all year!!!!

Same here, look out and stand back,I eat it both ways, and I almost eat it all at one time!!!!
Oink!!!
