Congratulations Julie! Watch it closely. These things have a habit of opening when we least expect it, or haven't checked it each night before going to bed....just in case.....When your bud starts to turn upward and begins to plump up that is when they are about to bloom. I missed one entirely because I didn't check it at about 9:00 at night. Seems the one I have in FL starts the opening process in the late afternoon, but the ones in AR seem to start later..after dark. Keep us posted and we will be expecting a photo!

Great.

I can tell when mine will open when I see the fleshy white coming through. My epi oxy starts blooming around 9 at night.

Mine in AR, too, but the one in FL begins to open earlier in the evening. Mine here (in AR) have been turned upward for almost a week, but aren't plump enough to open yet. The suspense is killing me! I think I'll go and dig out my Skin So Soft and sniff it to while away the time! LOL

yes JeanK, tell me what you think when yours open.

I am thinking perhaps this week-end. It has been cloudy and raining almost all week and the buds don't seem to have plumped up, which means they will be opening soon. I don't know if it had been sunny, they would have matured faster, but I will keep watching. Since they are in the sunroom, they will be in an enclosed space, and I will have more chance of catching their fragrance. When they are outdoors, you have to get very close to them in order to smell them (at least I did).

OHHH my daggone dogs tail broke my flower off, and I am mad as all get out!!! Oh well... Maybe next year!! :(

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yep that is our theme song. "Always next year". I am working on the plants of a new improved shade/green house. Any one know anything about solar panels? I want one to run some fans out there.

I sympathize with you Julie. The first bud I had, I got so excited bringing it inside for the winter, that I damaged it and it fell off. I couldn't even blame anyone or anything but myself.

Sandy, sorry I don't know anything about solar panels. I hardly know anything about plants. I just muddle along.

Something broke one of mine off too, but I had 3 buds - now 2.

Lili and anyone else wondering -- my epi oxi bloomed last night. I posted on the thread started by plantladylin "It's Blooming." Don't know how to give you the site. If anyone knows how to post threads let me know please.

Lili: Thanks. It's nice to have so many helpful people here. Just how far north of Atlanta are you? And in what direction? Our DS and DIL live in Dawsonville. Love to visit there, but being a Southerner, any place in the south is a nice place to visit!
