I am interested.
Sylvain.
Where?
Yeah that is a good question, PA is a bit far for me to take plants ha ha ha. Do you mean a group trade or something through the mail?

How does this work?
I was thinking a trade (threw the mail).
Christmas - I will dmail the name of your swap "buddy" to you & you send that person a Tropical plant. In return your swap "buddy" will send one to you. It wont be the same person to send & receive.. I would draw names out of a hat. Most people on the swap boards have been there for awhile and do swaps all of the time.
Please come over & sign up....

I actually planted the seeds with you in mind...
I am almost positive I answered positively to this...but I am IN!
AlohaHoya I have you in ^_^
I can barely get thing shipped to you Carol, I better listen to my inner procrastinator and stay clear.
Aw Randy...you have shipped me beautiful plants!!!!!
Carol
I'm a horrible procrastinator...I think packing and shipping plants is the least favorite thing associated with gardening. I don't know how Wayne does it every Sunday...I never visit on sundays..LOL!
There is always a chocolate for every vanilla....
both delightfully tastey
Wrapping is really not that involved...personally I think that Wayne overdoes it a bit...takes 3 days to get his plants free!!! I always feel that 1. keeping the soil IN and 2. securing the plant in the box so that it doesn't bounce around....are the best to do.
Say...I have been thinking...what if on another thread we all wrote what we CAN grow and what we CAN't grow...or want...to give our giftor a better idea of what would make us really pleased...?????
I LOVE that idea, and how about including nifty packing tips from pro packers!
I think he over does it too. We've had long discussions about getting the packing costs down, but he doesn't budge too much from the current curriculum.
Will send you a Dmail with pictures re: my new way of packing...or should I post it for everyone?
Really easy...actually half of it I learned from Brian at Brians Botanicals...got some plants from him and changed one of my processes....
Sounds good. I can try to match people up as best I can - or we can post a few things we would really like to have... just cause some people might have a hard time finding a certain plant. if you know a site that is selling your fav plant at a good price I would include that also. Just please post it over on the swap forum b/c not everyone is checking this one.
Thanks
bre
Yeah packing tips would be great! I am new at this whole send plants through the mail thing. Fortunately I have only sent small ones so i didn't care how much the shipping was.
RightyOh... let me take some pictures today and I will start a thread... I am basically an extremely lazy person, so I have been streamlining my process over the past 6 years...making it easier and easier on me....
Carol
Carol, please post a link here to your thread.
your a peach Carol!
Thanks - that would be a great idea, if you wouldnt mind I would like to post it over on the swap forum also.
bre
