4 kittens born today

Medford, NJ

Ok, it has been an exciting day.... We trapped a pregnant semi feral cat, about a year old, and she has so far had 4 kittens. I am apprehensive about being able to find them homes, but will have to worry about that later.

What I would love is any advice anyone can give me. We have her in a dog kennel, about the size for a german shepherd. We are going to put crib bumper pads around the inside bottom so the kittens don't get their heads stuck between the cage bars while they are still small. The cage is on our enclosed porch, covered and quiet, she has alot of privacy, which she seems to want, cause she growels whenever we take a peek. She did, however, let one of us pick up one of the babies. So far she seems like a good mama, and is keeping them very clean.

Is there anything in particular we should feed the mama while she nurses?
Any other advice or anything I should know?
