Using Messenger

Crestview, FL

Ok, I had read on a thread somewheres about how people were using messenger and the success they were having with it, so I ordered some and it arrived today in the mail. I also have some Sea Magic. I'm gonna be starting my seeds soon, and I believe there was a thread where people were talking about soaking their seeds in messenger first, does anyone know about this? Thanks in advance.

i've heard great things about messenger and i have them. unfortunately, when i used to use them on my roses, i was never consistent, so i was not able to tell the difference.

i haven't used them on my tomatoes either.

to really find out for yourself, you'll need a control group and experimental group.

Annapet: Thanks, it says to spray it; but I thought someone said they soaked their seeds in it first before planting the seeds, have you heard this at all?

It looks like they are out of business.

Huntsville, AL(Zone 7a)

Edenbio sold its helprin protein technology and its agreement
with Cornell University to Plant health care, Inc. before
they went out of business. Messenger is a helprin product.
I don't know what that means for the availablity of messenger.

Yes they went bankrupt I believe. The stuff DOES work. Buit you have to follow the lable directions (as you should ALWAYS do). I am looking to see if anyone else will be producing this so I'll check this thread often. I may have info soon I hope.....

What are you using it on. I have used it for three year now, its better on some things than others. What it is good on...its great, it really works. Tomatoes and blooming plants. For roses its amazing.

Dont confuse messenger with any kind of fertilizer. Like Spray and Grow ( which I use in the messanger) it doesnt do the feeding.

Messenger helps to strengthen a plants defenses again diseases and makes the plant stronger. GardenGlory is right, it's not a fertilizer. Works GREAT on tomatoes, roses, bloomers, I spray it on everything. IF you start using it ASAP when they are small and apply every 3 weeks.

The shelves will be emptying of this soon so get some while it's still there. They (Eden Bioscience) do not sell it anymore.

I just got mine in the mail and ordered a lot of it, as I am going to do right by my plants this time. All the above is correct; but didn't know they were out of business, I got mine from cooperseeds.com ordered it 7/20 and have gotten 2 three packs of the stuff. LOL I also have 4 packs of the Sea Magic from Burpees, good stuff. And of course, I have compost tea also. LOL My plants are going to be ready for fall for sure.
I was wondering though if I could soak the seeds in the stuff before planting them also?

Joy, they had another product for seeds. Forgot the name of it.

tommy: I have looked at some results of the use of this stuff and it does help insure a healthy plant, so I'm going to give it a shot added to the regular regimen I give my plants, I have been alternating Sea Magic with Compost tea in addition to the regular fertilizer and my plants seem to love all the stuff.

Joy, with all the stuff you are using, how do you know which one is really doing the magic? I'm just curious. Thanks.

Moonglow: I alternated them this past Spring (the compost tea and the Sea Magic), I had some pretty healthy plants til I stopped using it. Of course this is in addition to fertilizer. I'm thinking about finding a special fertilizer for my strawberries this November to see what happens.
