Condemn it to death or spear its life, for this new seedling

Carolina, PR(Zone 11)

Should I give it a little more time to see if blooms get better or should I just give up on her, blooms have improved a lot since its first bloomed three times before but its still not as I had hoped for. This will be #16 if I keep it or #1 on death roll if I don't keep it, it all depends on the jury's mercy or condemnation of it, will give a week to count on how many in favor or how many ageist, you decide it fate.

Oh boy. I'm going to be politically incorrect and say I would give it away. I wouldn't kill it, but just find it a happy home. I'm sure you would find quite a few people that would thrilled to have her.

You're right! As I am by far not perfect physically, I'd be glad to adopt. Just Dmail me and we can make transportation arrangements as I do on all my Rescues. However this is a first for this breed.
I know it's disheartening for you but don't let it effect your desire to generate new species and colors. Check again, might be a little more "patience" in that hip pocket.

Wilfred, I just figured if you're asking us for advice then you've probably somewhat decided its not exactly what you were hoping for, that's all. If it was just "amazingly awesome" you wouldn't even consider asking us!!!

I love hibiscus with a passion and I have to say it is not a keeper. The petals seem deformed or something because they don't touch or overlap to look like a full flower.

Honestly U an so limited on space it is not one I would even offer a home unless I was the only one to rescue it. Sorry to seem blunt.

Jon, your partially right, let me reface a little, what I meant was do this deformities correct them self or not, I've only been cross pollinating since last summer 2008, and I really don't know to much about first blooms on seedling, never done this with hibs until last year, and I didn't have any of the really fancy hibs you all had ether, those I got this year, all this seedling are the product of last years seeds I planted from what I had available locally from neighbors and garden centers, and believe me they don't sell fancy hibs, My first seedling didn't quit come out perfect ether but now the blooms are perfect shaped, but this one was so deformed compared to what it looks now, two petals were very small, one petal was medium size and the other two were really big and the stigma was twice the size of the bloom itself, darn gone ugly as can get. so imagine if I tell you it looks gorgeous now to what the first bloom looked like.
I'm going to plant it on the side road, at least it looks pretty from an airplane, Lynn I'll get you something with prettier blooms, I'll D-mail you Lynn and don't worry about my desire to generate new species and colors, One out of 20 is not bad for me, Lynn have you checked my tread " Your Opinion Requested " , I have 15 new hibs there, there not amazingly awesome but I like them, the other 4 that bloomed I did not post them since they came out identical to one of the parent hibs. and the last one is this one.
Jon and ilovejesus, thank you very much for making such honest opinions, decision has been made, judgement day has come sooner than expected, and so like the song says, Hit the road Jack, for this hib.

I like it - but I know nothing about petals touching/overlapping or cross polinating. How do you cross pollinate hibiscus?

Prattville, AL

Wilfred, you don't have to send me anything. I'm not a collector or hybridizer. I'm just me. I come to this forum to see all the pretties. My husband loved hibiscus so it's just a place for me.
I appreciate your kindness. Just keep doing what makes your heart sing and puts a smile, even a frown now and then, on your face. Just keep enjoying what you're doing and you'll get that "one" to make it all worth while.

I really like the color Wilfred, definitely worth saving!
