preferred mint for tea and lemonade?

Atlanta, GA

Hi everyone-
I'm looking for input on what people consider the best mint for tea and/or lemonade. Right now I'm using peppermint (previously, my mother used common garden mint, which is not the best flavor!) and I've just ordered lime mint. But I'd love your suggestions, opinions, and recipes if you've got them!

Chocolate mint is my favorite.
I think peppermint to strong for me, however I do like spearmint, but I do not drink it plain ,rather mix it with other less tasty teas.

I love lemonbalm tea both by itself and with other teas. an i've heard lemon verbena tea is good.
I use a heaping teaspoon of dried leaves to a cup of boiling water and let steep about 5 minutes.

We like peppermint for "plain" mint tea with a bit of honey added.
Spearmint and lemon vebena make a nice combo.
When I cook zucchini, I often use spearmint and lemon together, so if you are mixing mint with lemonade, I would use spearming.
For mint chutney, we use spearmint.

gardenmermaid, Want to be sure. Do you use spearmint and lemon to season zucchini? That sounds worth trying.

Yes, onion, spearmint and lemon together to cook the zucchini, or lemon, garlic and basil.

If using mint, sautee finely sliced or chopped yellow onion and lemon zest until onion is golden. Add the chopped zucchini, saute a few minutes, then cover and cook until desired level of tender. Add chopped mint leaves, stir and let cook another minute to blend the flavours.

The technique for the basil option is he same except you start with garlic instead of onion.

The onion is sweeter, so it complements the mint. Garlic does better with the basil.
