Question about ACV

Bridgewater, ME

Do you still give acv in the summer months? My thought was that it would attract insects.I think my chickens would do better if they had this all the time

Ferndale, WA

Hi Green! I use ACV all year round. Don't know really how much good it does really but it sure can't hurt. I haven't had any problems with attracting bugs at all. Hay

What is ACV? Is just for chickens, or is it something ducks need to? Thanks

Ferndale, WA

Hi Loreen! ACV is short for Apple Cider Vinegar, and is often used for chickens, also people, and other animals in small dose's to help build immune system's. I generally use four teaspoons per gal of water. I'm sure some would use other dosage but thats what I do. Nice meeting you and I'm sure it would be great for your ducks also. Haystack

Loreen-

I use ACV for my Seramas also, in the same dosage as Haystack, all the time...even for my chicks...I start them from the day they're born...Everyone is very healthy, and I've had no problems with bugs of any kind.

I also use ACV for my guineas. Same doseage and I've not attracted bugs - and believe me, down here in Texas, if it was gonna happen - it would happen here!! LOL!!

dstarr I drove through Sealy twice yesterday, you got more than your fair share of rain; we got none. I feel cheated!

Were those your guineas I heard over the sound of my radio?

Hi, Porkpal! Could've been - they can raise a ruckus! LOL! We did finally get some relief from the drought, but we're still so far behind the cracks in the ground pretty much took it all!
