LOL, well I sure wouldn't have guessed that. At a nursery? Details lady! LOL

Lone Pine! You have been there! I finally made it back there. Had a fun day. I went to a few nurseries and then to a grocery store there I like and also Mom's Pie. Have you been there? We love their turnovers. First time I have been that far this year.

I think I will go back Thursday after the farmer's market to finish the nurseries.

Had a very sad day today. My neighbor from hell had pruned my 30+ year bougainvillea to the fence which meant only trunk was left on back side. It was so tall and big it was unstable with so much growth and flowers on one side. So I had to have a crew come in and prune it to nothing. As 2 chain saws made that terrible noise, I kept thinking the bougie was screaming to me for help. All these years I have hardly touched it. No tears ever shed and tonight it must be in a world of serious hurt.

Here it is yesterday. Today it is not looking looking the same.

I read about that when you wrote it to Kin, very sad. I too had a sad day, had to put my kitty Ferris to sleep, cancer. :-(

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh that is even sadder. Poor you, poor Ferris. I have 2 cats that are older than 15 and I just dread the day that is coming. That ride to the vet is so hard and the ride back so sad. Sending Pretty Sue hugs!

I am getting over my trauma but just barely. I didn't sleep for the 2 nights before. I was so attached to that bougie. I was in love for over 30 years. It is so ugly now. This morning I am thinking I will put up 2 - 64 inch tree roses in big pots and move them over there to help block the view.

On a good note, while I had the crew here I had some roses and tree brugs dug and big holes dug for new roses. LOL

I also had them take a truckload of old pots etc garden garbage out of my hiding places in the yard. Things I thought I would use but never did. If I had a dollar for every plant I killed or garden thingie I bought and never used, I would be so rich!

They also carted away 3 maples I have had for years and years and years. They were in 40 gallon pots, just huge pots. All 3 had verticillium wilt. One had been dead for 2 years but so huge I had no way to get it out of here and I did not want to dump the soil out to make it easier to move because of the fungus in it would get all over. It had been cut back to the ground. The other 2 had been cut down to about 4 feet by Tom, all still branched.

I told the crew boss they were all sick with a bad fungus and that I did not want the pots emptied out. Well I come out and they had turned the pot that had been dead for 2 years over and were taking the soil next door to the backyard. And spreading it all over their backyard - - to the bougainvillea haters. Do you believe it? Did I mention the same crew is redoing the neighbor's yard for an open house they are having next week? It had been totally weeds since they moved in and clear cut the entire yard 6 months ago.

I tried to tell the crew not to but they did not understand what I was saying. And then they took both live but diseased maples to their backyard too. They are going to plant them back there. I bet they charge them for them.

When the boss lady came back I told her what they did. I feel so bad for the neighbors even though I still have some negative energy towards them. The other day I was trying to rid myself of my negative feeling so I actually gave them a few beautiful plants. The whole extended family was over in my driveway and front garden pointing and laughing. It was so weird. My husband said they were all laughing at the crazy old white woman with all the plants but I found out from the crew boss that they were picking out plants they wanted for their yard. LOL. So I told the crew boss they could have some, mini roses etc. I was hoping being charitable would rid my heart of this stress I feel towards them. But then I went back to the backyard and saw the ugly hole left where once was all purple and my privacy screen gone and the hate returned. LOL. Now I want my plants back. So much for replacing hate with charity. LOL

Well, that was more than you ever wanted to know. LOL. It is cathartic. My husband told me that if this is the worse that ever happens to me I will be lucky! And he is so right so I need to just get over it! And to reinforce what he said, I am now off to my eye doctors. Wish me luck.

Makes ya wanna move away where the neighbors can't breathe on your space doesn't it?

Hey, here's some distraction, check out the Photos Forum, I have 2 vacation photo threads up so far, first Ireland and then Germany. Some France, Copenhagen and the Iceland threads still to come, taking a break for house and garden cleaning.

I just got home a few minutes ago. I will look tomorrow. I bet you got some fantastic shots. I am beat. We went to Half Moon Bay to Pasta Moon for dinner. They were having a special dinner where you got to meet the farmers whose produce you were enjoying in the meal. It was great fun. We sat with the rancher who supplied the organic beef. What a fun meal, the place was so crowed on a Wednesday night. We sat at community tables and we had such a fun crowd.

Yes, I want to move. LOL. But no longer to HMB. We went early and I took Tom to that house with the succulent rock fence. It was so cold and overcast with so much fog so early. All summer of that would be too much. Though the plants sure love it there.

I have a play date with Patricia in a few days. I was thinking we should go to HMB to there and eat lunch at that tiny place right on the water between the succulent house and that Miramar Restaurant. It looked so cute. Have you eaten there? Is that the one you said you tried?

No, never have tried that, just the Miramar restaurant.
Off to bed, still adjusting to time difference. Lets continue on d-mail, this PF is going way off LOL, as per our usual mode!
