Have: Fresh cuttings, Plumeria pudica "Bridal Bouquet"

Gainesville, FL

My plant is huge and needs to be cut back. A few branches are so tall they are bending over.
Looking for other tropical plants. Gingers, aroids, etc

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I would love a couple cuttings of your Plumeria Pudica, All I have to offer in the way of tropicals is Brugmansia's ( I can send you a list) if you would be interested in those. I also have Araujia sericifera that has been growing in gallon cans all summer.

Patricia,
I'm sorry, I forgot to add my usual disclaimer...
I don;t trade plants to CA, HI, LA, TX, or AZ due to agricultural laws that make it illegal to send plants (and in many cases receive plants)to and from those states

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

If you can trade for this, DO - it's a beauty and fragrant, too!

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Gothqueen, I do understand.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Boy Goth, you just have all kinds of really cool stuff.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Gina, I have mailed many plants and cuttings to Patricia in California over the years - I've NEVER had any problems. She has done the same for me - I guess we are just lucky!

Gainesville, FL

I got nipped by the CA USDA and will NOT repeat that experience.

In exchange, Miami has the "Beagle Brigade" which sniffs out almost everything coming in from out of the country. Recently had a unique ginger (that was sent to me from someone else) confiscated and destroyed thanks to those sweet doggies, LOL

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Oh, WOW - I'm sorry to hear that.

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

They can't catch em all. LOL I send bareroot to those states all the time and knock on wood, no problem. Can they trace it back to you if you don't put a return address on the label?

Gainesville, FL

If you don't put a return address on the label and they open your package and find something illegal, they will go after the person you are sending it to to find out who you are. Whether that person decides to 'give you up" to save their own skin is up to them I guess. They are breaking the law just as badly receiving the illegal material knowingly as you are sending it to them. Usually though they will get the sender, not the recipient.

The problem is, they rewrite the Ag laws every few years. What was true 3-4 years ago might not still be true today. It used to be that you could send stuff like epiphytes (bromeliads, orchids etc), bareroot soilless cuttings, and air layered plants to CA. But even air layered plants had to be wrapped still in the original airlayering materials. But when the laws were rewritten the last time, that changed and they closed that loophole.

For things going to CA from FL the greatest concern is burrowing nematode and fire ant. But for plants going there from other states there are things that you might never think of....sweet potato weevils, gypsy moths, snails, etc. For things coming to FL from CA one of the biggest threats seems to be brown snail

A few years ago, the state of FL USDA put a ban on ALL plant material coming into FL from CA from any source because a very large commercial nursery there was sending plants into the state that were infected with a fungal pathogen that causes sudden oak death. Not only oak trees but also stuff like camillas, other trees and other woody plants. The nursery also had operations in GA, so was able to send plants here from their GA operation, but not from CA. To my knowledge, that ban has never been rescinded. So its pretty illegal to trade between CA and FL either way.

If no one wants to trade for these cuttings (in a state I can send to LOL) I am going to compost them and close the ad.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

I will trade you for them and if I don't have what you want, I will pay postage.

Middleton, TN(Zone 7a)

Me, too...sorry about missing out on the jade vine, too. I did not have but one of the ones you wanted to trade for on that...need to update my trade list badly ....it has been a while. I will be glad to pay postage on this one, though ... I have been wanting this particular plumie for a long time

You can check my trade list and see if I might have anything you want and I will be glad to check and see if I have a good one to send or not.................pleassse don't compost them LOL

Would you do postage for a cutting? My tropicals are too new and tiny to trade yet :(

Gainesville, FL

I prefer not to do postage, I like to get new plants too. I am not only interested in tropicals. I like all sorts of plants. I will look at you guy's lists when I get a chance

Gainesville, FL

what I am really looking for is one of those Princess Earring Tree seedlings. Does anyone have one of those??
