Wrightstown, NJ(Zone 7a)

One of my customers has knat like bugs coming out of the soil of some of her plants (none I sold her thank God), and she was wondering what she could use to kill them. Any suggestions?

Nasty fungus knats...hate those things!!! Watering from the bottom is the first step as the adults lay eggs in the first 1-2" of soil. Watering with a watering can that has "Mosquito Dunks" (in the pool and/or insect section of Walmarts - also HD/Lowes) floating in it is #2 http://www.summitchemical.com/view-products.aspx?id=8 ...and #3 is a product by the same makers of the dunks called "Mosquito Bits" - these get sprinkled on top of the soil. I truly avoid any chemicals....these are all natural - can even be used in Koi ponds and bird baths...
