I found a dead bird in a parking lot that looked weird for the central VA area. It's head, chest and tail fethers are a bright orange. Standing, the bird would be about 4" tall with gray wings. The wings have a leading edge colored yellow or white/tan. Anyone know what bird this is?
Thanks,
Skippy in VA

CLOSED: Orange Bird in VA Found Dead. Need I.D.
I'm thinking Tanager, Maybe immature Scarlet.
Summer Tanager - the bill is too large for Scarlet

Resin,
Indeed, you are correct. It was a Male Tanager. I couldn't find it right away in my bird book. Thanks.
