Meadowlark in Custer State Park, SD.
A few of my bird photos..
Ohhhh, your pictures remind me of growing up in Minnesota. Love the meadowlark and orioles.
Beautiful birds Joan. Love that last one with the baby and that Meadowlark is just beautiful. I'm sitting here watching our Orioles do this same thing as yours-just like kids. Pretty Grosbeaks!
Julie, whereabouts in MN did you grow up?
ducbucln thanks! We sure have enjoyed the babies this year. One day I saw 6 orioles at the same time, and I think at least 4 were young ones. Hope they all make it back next year!
Spent my first 6 years in Faribault, then lived in New Ulm through high school.
Still have lots of relatives up there in Alexandria, Bloomington, and Faribault.
I moved to Alabama in 1979, so this is my 30th year here! Minnesota is still home, though.
Excellent shots Joan!
Thanks for sharing them with us!
Beautiful! Meadow Lark is stunning! I love the shot of the young grosbeak. I wondered what they would look like in case we have one show up. Very nice pics!!

Joan, you probably will see them next year. I mark my calender every year on the day they arrive and the day the last ones leave, just to see if it's always at the same time. This year mine were a month ahead of last year. You should try this.
Good idea!
Such great shots!
The grosbeak feeding his youngster is so sweet.
If your orioles are anything like ours, once they find a place they like, they will be back. Our population of orioles triples each year.
Wonderful shots Joan. Love them all.
Such great shots.
Love the Meadow Lark. I have them in the field behind my house, but they seldom let me get close enough for a decent pic.
Great shots, Joan.
I really got lucky on the meadowlark. We were driving the animal loop in Custer State Park and there was a meadowlark on about every fence post and bird house there! We just stopped, I rolled down the window and shot.
