CLOSED: Cold Hardy banana wanted

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have a cold hardy banana which will be planted in zone 7b near the shore? Any suggestions would also be appreciated.

Summerville, SC(Zone 8a)

Here is a link that lists cold hardy banana's .. it starts a little more than half way down the page .. once you get the names you can look them up in plant files and see who has them for trading.

Marshalls Creek, PA(Zone 6b)

I also saw a listing on eBay that claimed to have cold hardy Banana Plants.
Depending on how fast you want them you might want to check it out, I have no idea how cold hardy or what type of Banana Plant..

Louisville, KY

Basjoo is hardy. I mulch heavily and it comes back every year. Even after the ice storm we had in Jan/Feb.

Dandridge, TN(Zone 6a)

Basjoo is hardy. Musella lasiocarpa isn't exactly a banana but it looks just like one, and is hardy.
I don't think there are any that are hardy in that zone and will give you fruit.

Thanks!!! I am not looking for fruit...just the plant. I am over here now and have talked to the nursery man and he says we are in zone 8 no matter what the zone finder says. i guess it is because we will be living between the Bay and tha Ocean. I ordered a 'Rojo" and hope it does ok. I think it is going to be too hot for my rhododendrons though, the look too yellow.
