My sister and I did this this spring.. This was a month or so ago.. Will try to get a pic of now later today.. It has grown like wildfire.. We have minnows, goldfish & a few small bream that we caught out of the big pond.

Pool Within A Pool
I ♥ it!
That is so awesome! It looks wonderful, you did a great job. I'd love to see how it looks now. :)
What were those pools originally? They're galvanized steel, aren't they? I've not seen anything quite like them before. They sure make a great pond, though. :)
They are stock tanks, for watering livestock.. We used them for the kids pools before we had a real pool, lol.. They do make great ponds..Going to get around to painting the outside one someday.

Ahhh! Goes to show what a "city girl" I am... LOL
They sure do make wonderful ponds. I want some of those now! ;)
Nice! That looks cool. I have always wanted to build a pond in a stock tank. I wonder if I could find one like that used(?).
You can get a new one at Tractor Supply, if you have one near by. Cheap too..

You're right! They list it online right here...

...just around 200 bucks. That one would look perfect in the spot that I have in mind.
Awesome job Larkie, and beautiful result! May I ask, is that potato vine you have growing in the outside pond? I have some, and thought about trying to it in water, but wasn't sure if it would be viable in that type of environment.
It is potato vine..Actually the larger pool has the smaller set in the middle of it, as you can see.. the smaller is actually the pond.. We filled in with dirt around the larger one.. It had a few holes in it and I was tired of using it for my lettuce & spinach beds in the fall..I was just trying for something different..
There are lots of plants under the vines, they have taken over,, Should have thought about this, as I have grown potato vine for years and it runs crazy here in GA.. Almost like Kudzu.., lol..I have allysum spilling over the sides also, you just can't see it..Periwinkles for color.. Also the giant cosmos on the back side , were supposed to be the shorter ones.. Go figure..Next year they will go in the ground instead of the pool edging..
Well, back to the vines..Yes, they will also grow in the water..About every 2-3 days I have to yank some out.. My fish love the long feathery roots to swim thru, so I leave a few. We'll see what goes there next year.. Love the vines, but would love to see the allysum spilling over the sides also, lol..
