Join In To Travel Down Memory Lane with old pictures!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Just for fun, everyone start posting pictures from the past of something you loved growing. I don't have names on most of mine because I didn't know that I would keep growing them 2 years later and need the names.

I remember this Sinningia speciosa Jack Evans red. (before my new camera)

Gail, clivia seeds came from Ken Smith-Australia and Nick Primich-South Africa. In 2000, I had posted either here or on Gardenweb.com that I was looking to grow clivia from seed. These two gentlemen were very generous and sent me seeds. I lost the tags on the four plants I have out of all the seeds, so don't know which is which. Some were supposed to be yellow or apricot. Two of them are still in pots and the other two I put in the ground. That was a mistake. They don't like our sun at all. The ones in the ground are doing poorly and as soon as I get back from GD's wedding, I'm going to put them back into pots and in full shade like the other ones.
Here's a picture of the first bloom this year on this one. The flowers were few and much lighter in color.

Thanks, so much, Imadigger. I knew it was too pretty to come from seeds we can order. Yes, I hope you get those others out of the ground and back into pots.........They are just wonderful blooms.

Oooh, loving all these beauties! Love Synningia amazade! And, also the Glox. sylvatica!

Gail, that's not Nun's Cap orchid in your photo but lovely Jewel Orchids! Really nice! I have one teeny one that isn't doing much!

Imadigger: The Clivia is gorgeous! I saw a picture of your other beautiful Clivia on the other thread! Great job growing from seed! I can't keep Clivia alive for some reason, have one that is just barely breathing!

Gail, maybe you have a PRADHD (plant related attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder)
I don't think they have a cure yet, so don't go and start snorting ritalin or anything.

Medford, NJ

PS...next time you get tired of one of Bonnie's micro mini sinnigias, I will be happy to give it a new home!
