Walmart to "eco-rate" products

Ffld County, CT(Zone 6b)

I just heard on the news that WalMart will be compiling an index of all the products they carry, and will be giving those products an "eco-rating", which rates their impact on the environment. They will be getting the information from the manufacturer. It may take five years to get this up and running.

Good idea that will have a real impact, or marketing gimmick?
