CLOSED: 150 Gladiola bulbs

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

Beautiful Glads purchased this spring in a coop. Assorted colors chosen to blend and change beautifully together. Most in groups of 5, a few 10's.
i cannot plant due to voles that would just eat the bulbs.
I would love to trade for an assorted house/ yard plant box. Things that voles don't eat, though, like daylilies perhaps.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I have ice plants the delosperma cooperii yellow and fushia colored. I also the the aptenia both pink and yellow. These would like a sunny window. I also have some daylily seeds if you'd like to trade.

Birdie Blue,
I would love to do a trade with you for some Glads!
Please take a look at my have list and see if anything there interests you.
I do have other Day lilies however since I am new here I never really cared before what they were named just how they looked. Now I have a bunch of NOID lilies, beautiful just the same.

birdie sorry to cut in but i have to ask anne about those ice plants. do you grow them outside? i just got the aptenia and want to grow them out.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

They are outside and stayed there all winter. I have them in hanging baskets under an arbor. I have about 5 diff colors/varieties.

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

i hope that "b" thing doesn't keep mine from making it through the winter. they look good at 110 degrees, don't they? lol.

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Sorry Barb, it's been a long day, "b"?

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

She means 8b vs 8a...

Barb,

I grow my ice plants outside and they do great.

Carol

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

Ah, sorry I am slow today. Was at DPS today for 3 hours trying to get name change on DL. grrrr

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

I sympathize! We will excuse you since you have been under great stress today!

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

now i'm so happy that you reported that carol. i put them in the ground and now i can't wait to see them again next spring. they look good girl in this heat. i didn't know there was a yellow one but found it in miss.

anne, i woulda killed somebody. lol. never had to wait in rockwall until this year. had to wait about 45 min. people come from other cities to rockwall cause it's so bad in their own. that chaps me.

Emory, TX(Zone 8a)

Barb,

I am sorry but I am wrong about your ice plants... The ones AuntAnne was referring to and the ones I have are delosperma cooperii, which is hardy here. The ones you have are Aptenia cordifolia, also called "Baby Sunrose" which is hardy to 10 or 11...

At least that is what I am assuming from the posts above. I hope you are not broken hearted! If it makes you feel any better, I think the ones you have are prettier than mine!

Fate, TX(Zone 8a)

wah wah. yes it is aptenia i am talking about. what color do the delosperma come in?

so sorry blues. did you get those glad bulbs traded?

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

We're getting way off the topic of this thread, but now that we have lol, I showed the lady my paperwork when I first got there. She gave me a number, hour and a half later number was called. I waited another 30 min. for open window. When I got there I was told the paperwork wasn't right and that I'd have to go back to the courthouse for a "certified" copy. However if I did it that day I could get at the front of the line. It was 2pm at that point. So had to drive to courthouse, find a parking place, walk over to courthouse, go to second floor, get the "certified" copy, walk back to car, drive back to DPS, get in front of line and wait again for open window.....of course I'd not taken my arthritis meds cause I didn't realize the ordeal ahead of me. I finally got home around 4. I started the whole mess at 12:15. They had 4 people to wait on 50 + people plus a steady stream of more coming in. Ok, I now return you to your normally scheduled thread.

I would love some ice year a "hepful friend" cleaned up around my porh to surprise me and dumped out al of my little "dead plants" that were sitting around in "ugly pots". grrr! but I know her heart meant well. .

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

OK...who wants to trade for what?, please....

College Station, TX(Zone 8b)

I'm missing some pictures of most of my ice plants. I will show what I have pics of and will take some more pictures tomorrow. This is the fuschia/pink that I have a lot of.

This is another that is more of an orange one that fades to a pinkish red. this plant is rather new so I don't have a lot to share of it. I have a yellow with the same shape as this one and the fuschia. I'll get pictures of the others tomorrow.

My yellow one like the one above isn't being cooperative by blooming. So no pics today. However, but I did get pictures of some of the others. This one I haven't been able to find in the plant files. There's one that is close to it, but this one is a lavender with really little dainty flowers all over.
