Got My Very First Plumie!

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

... now, what the heck do I do with it??? LOL. its a noid plumie that I got from mistressgardenr... plant is about 12-18 inches tall and in a small 1 gallon pot. Ive got it on my shaded patio... any advice, or just keep it most and protected from the blazing sun?

Put it IN the blazing sun. It loves sun!!
You might consider a bigger pot...... the best is a plastic black nursery pot.

ok, so moving the plumie into the blazing sun today...lol. should I leave it int he pot or plant it int he ground. I was told that they are not cold tolerant at all and will die completely in a frost... but Ive seen plants that SHOULD be dead in the 4 hard freezes we had this past winter come back with a vengeance....lol.

It will do better if it's in the ground, but you do need to protect it from frost. However, you can uproot it in the winter and store it barerooted since it will be dormant.

ohhhh! cool, I didnt know that. now I can go find a sunny spot for it somewhere in the yard!!! thank you dutchlady1... our resident plumie expert...lol.

ive no experience at all with plumies, and must admit, Ive lived in FL all my life and dont recall ever really seeing one. Im sure I must have as I grew up in So. Fl. but can remember it. hopefully I wont kill this one as it was an early birthday gift from mistressgardenr lol. She might hurt me...

*sniff* I just planted my new baby plumie on the east side of my house, to one side of my ining room window - opposite the Brug that flanks the other side.. and in the process, crushed 3 painted daisy plants I had grown from seed and transplanted a few weeks ago into that same bed. I am angry now... I worked so hard to grow them and in my enthusiasm to get yet one more plant into that bed, crushed them carelessly. *sniff sniff* I feel so ashamed
