info on saving and mailing watermelon seeds?

San Angelo, TX(Zone 7b)

I was hoping someone could tell me the proper way to save and mail seedless watermelon seeds. My neighbor and I are planning on saving the seedless watermelon seeds from the watermelon to send his brother who lives in CA.
Anybody know the right way to go about doing this so as the seeds will arrive save and ready to plant?
Thanks, Elizabeth

Er, those few stray seeds from a seedless watermelon will not grow true. So that's a deal-breaker right there.

Also, you must grow a regular watermelon variety alongside the seedless variety to get any kind of pollination to happen.

Most folks grow 1 mound of 3 plants of Sugar Baby to each 2-3 mounds of whatever seedless variety they have selected. Seeds must be purchased each year.

Thanks! We didn't know that. I'll pass that along. So we would be really wasting his time to send him those seeds?
