Wanted: trumpet vine, pink flowered mimosa tree

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm trying to think what my neighbor asked about. He's an older man that wants to cover up some older fencing and a long sturdy trellis. I'm willing to trade or pay postage to get these for him.

I may not get back right away but I'll be back. :)

I will check my trumpet vine and see if I have any rooted starts. Would he like some honeysuckle?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well he didn't specifically ask for that but if it is the kind that takes over, I will say no for him. LOL

I tried to talk him into Clematis but he doesn't like white and that is all we can find locally. He likes the trumpet vine and it will be far enough away that it shouldn't do any damage for many years. :)

Thanks!

Went and looked and I do have a good rooted piece (probably 3-4 ft) that I could send. Would love to trade for a daylily instead of postage if that would be okay with you?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

That is fine. What are you looking for?

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I have a small mimosa, Started from seed but it is very young and they don't grow rapidly. I started these myself and are looking nice even though it is small.

Sent you a D-Mail

Maybe you can talk him into using shrubs or bushes to cover up the fence. Planted close to a fence, they soon go through and cover it up. They take less maintenance and leave less lawn to to mow. Just a thought if you can't find a good vine for him.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have a few mimosa's also. One maybe 8 inches tall or more. I will have to look. I may trade but have not looked to see if you have a list. :o)

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

I have atleast 3 mimosa's around 7-8 inches tall growing in the yard.

Would Trumpet Vine seed help? Mine formed seed pods, and I have more than enough *G*. Probably a plethora little Mimosa's as well. Any other invasives you want ?

LOL Margo! I figured people would think I am crazy. My neighbor has a 5 acre yard. Thank you for the offer of seeds but I know he won't start them so that leaves me and I don't have time. sigh.

Hi Mom!

Hi Windy! I talked him into wanting red or dark purple clematis but due to price and availability that won't work right now.

Sorry to disappear on everyone. I will be around this weekend. :)

I just furgured you were living up to your name :). I have plants as well. Lots of them. I'm in NY at the moment, but I'll check in when I get back, and if you still need either one, I'll start digging...

Can I interest you in a lovely green vine that with heart shaped leaves that has pretty purple flowers on it? Hmm?

Geesh! I typed out a reply then the electric went out. Nice storms today...

You can keep that vine with the pretty purple flowers. LOL I did actually mention those too him. If they were to self seed, they wouldn't hurt anything and he could pull out what he didn't want. Heck, I told him to get some trumpet vines out of the ditch. We live in a rural area and there are plenty of them around. The mimosas aren't that common.

You have fun and have a safe journey home.

El Paso, TX(Zone 8a)

I have 3 trumpet vine plants that he could have.
