Thank you, everybody!

I just had to let all of you know what I heard at my local farmer's market Sat. evening. There were only 5 vendors there and only 2 of us were selling produce. I over heard the other produce vendor talking about how she and her neighbors' "share" their harvest. She was saying one of her neighbors had the best yellow squash she had ever tasted, I ask her the person's name and when she told me I started laughing and explained that she had gotten all 25 starts from me. She asked me where I had gotten them and I explained that I started them and they are OP. She placed an order for some and another vendor ordered peppers plants from me for next year! I couldn't have done this with out all of your help. It sure made me feel good. Now I'm even having a website made.

It's good news indeed. I'm a fan of local food and believe strongly that the next best to growing your own is to support the farmer's markets. OP seeds are a way to help a growers bottom line and preserve genetic diversity. I love to see those $ stay in the community and reward the hard work of enterprising individuals instead of the dangerous and unsustainable big ag operations.

I think your market needs a lot more than 5 vendors to attract traffic but it's a good start. I wish you much success.

That's awesome! I love to shop at our local farmer's market. Most of the produce sold there is OP and organic. Some isn't, but that's okay. A lot of our vendors are here in the county, but we do get some from the next county over. I really like supporting local agriculture and other businesses.

Thank you all for your encouragement and support. Our farmer's market is new and it has been so hot that people just aren't out. I was just so surprised to hear somebody bragging on their neighbor's squash and wondering where they got it and I just happened to be right there. Especially, because there were so few of us!
Thanks again,
Lisa
