I have discovered the 3rd nest of the year in my box. I have complained before that when I approached the 2 other nests the male would try to attack me-------and make strange clicking noises. Anyhow, I have not seen the birds since the nest was completed-------but, truthfully, it is almost too hot to get out side---------and we are having an awful drought. Does anyone know of the chances of getting some babies from a 3rd nesting?

3rd bluebird nest
I have been hosting bluebirds for five years and have had three successful nestings every year.

Have you ever had the male attack you when you tried to look at the nest? I never have before (in 20 years of nest observing)-------but, with both the other nests this year it has dived bombed me and made clicking noises to frighten me off (and it works).

I did have the problem but with a female. Others here on this forum have reported being dive-bombed too. I think it is most often birds that are not used to being around people. In my case she is much more tolerant than she was.
I installed a bird cam in the box and don't check it as much as I used too.
