should hidden ginger be blooming by now?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I have some ginger that didnt bloom last year and nothing yet this year.
I was wondering what time of year should I expect it to bloom?
I thought by now for sure.

There are a lot of Gingers that are sometimes called hidden ginger and it may depend on the one that you have and the size of the rhizomes you started with. With it being in the ground for two years it should bloom this year, if it is getting what it needs. Most Curcumas like a little sun and some like a lot. Then a rich soil and plenty of water.

Well these have been in the ground for over a year and I cant remember where they came from but I have tons of them planted mostly in shade.

this is an old pic they are about 3ft now and don't seem to be ready to bloom any time soon .
they are getting plenty of water, its been raining here and that should be enough water.

I guess its a wait and see game.
