someone had these in their garbage i got them out dont know too much about them or what exactly i am looking at. can anyone help.

What a bargain! It looks like a bunch of Guzmanias. Probably guzmania lingulata. They like shadey positions indoors, or out in warmer climates. Water more during warmer weather than cold.
