Stitch In Time

New Boston, NH

Being the compulsive person I am and haveing read an article in Fine Gardening Magazine
and the writer went on about this new Hosta plant (Stitch In Time) nothing would do but I had to have one and it came today .For the price it is small but in nice condition and glad to have planted its roots in N.H. it is a flashy plant so we are pleased.

It's very unique looking. Good luck with it.

Must have gone right by your area I travel 287 & 78 thru Jersey.

I'm waiting on it. I bought it last year from the guys at Naylor Creek and it didn't make it through the winter. I've spoken to a few hosta specialty nurseries and they are all saying mixed things about this hosta. Either whole flats are reverting, they aren't that strong out of TC, or they are doing ok. I'm going to wait another year or two before I try it...I still think it's to "new" to try. There was a thread discussing the merits of Stitch in Time on the hosta forum. Bob Mortko (the person who introduced this hosta) actually shed some light on his creation. The ploidy is different than other hostas, and it is slow to get going... I'm just going to sit back for another growing season or two and see what happens.

Good luck with yours though :-)

Well it hasn't shown signs of stress from travel or planting but it has along way to go and being rather small think I will mulch heavy and cross my fingers,as they don't give them away.It certainly is a flashy bugger.

I'm a lot farther south.
