A named cultivar though I don't remember which one right now. Gets the exact same watering, fertilization as the rest of my plumies and it has looked like this since late March when it came out of the garage. I have checked the stem and it is solid. But no branches. Your comments will be appreciated. Thanks.
here is a closeup of the tip. Looks like leaves want to form but it has looked that way since March. So strange!
Yes, full sun. And all my other plumies, located in the same area and elsewhere are doing great. What kinda things should I look for under soil other than root firmness and color?
my Makaha sunn did the same thing,all my others leafed out ,now in the last 3 weeks it has 5 leaves on it. I would just wait it looks good and trying to leaf out.
mine is also tall and skinny in a small pot.
Check roots, soil condition, quality of the pot's drainage --AND pull out the other stuff growing in there. Certain plants compete for root space by stifling the growth of other plants' roots.

Nery, my dear, don't worry about it, but I do agree to pull the other plants out of the pot as they compete for water and root space. That tip has sealed up and new branches will eventually sprout as if you had an inflo. It happens. I have several doing the same thing. They have no leaves and a sealed/closed tip. What causes it? Cold damage maybe. It lookes healthy otherwise. Just be patient and give it a little time and don't overwater it until you see leaves.

I posted my concern about this plumie on july 9th. On july 12th it started leafing out. I never did inspect the roots to see if any problems, so hoping and crossing fingers that all is well and this plumie is simply slow.
BTW, this was grown from Gordonhawk's Panama seeds.
The little plants to the right are var. plumie Marble Gold (?) and var. Rose Syrup, both from Brads buds & blooms.
Nery, it actually looks like it was supposed to be an inflo, which turned into the tip. I've had this happen myself. It is definitely weird -- one of those wild, weird things that seedlings do.
Clare, now that you mentioned it, the tip looked funny, kinda like an inflo. An even now, it still looks funny but leaves have started appearing very close to the tip.
